How updates will occur

After the release of President Forever 2016 v. 1.3.6, how updates work will change.

Instead of releasing a new version directly, the next version will first have ‘Test Release’.

For example, President Forever 2012 v. 1.3.7 Test Release 1.

This basically allows for Betas of new release numbers, and makes sure that people who want to try the latest version can, but people who want a version that doesn’t have any potential new bugs won’t have to download it.

On the Updates screen, there will be a new link under the main President Forever 2016 link, for the latest President Forever 2016 Test Release.

Once a Test Release has been tested relatively extensively, President Forever 2016 proper will then be updated. So in this case, after v. 1.3.7 Test Release has been tested enough, v. 1.3.7 proper will be released.

Any questions, don’t hesitate to let me know.

    So the release candidates version will not have any updates besides new candidates?

    Rz,

    The ‘Candidate’ refers to the version being a candidate for release (as in, this version might be released as the next official version) – the ‘candidate’ does not refer to political candidates.

    @Rz,

    I’ve updated the terms to remove this ambiguity.

    A thing that might soothe over “When is _____ feature going to be added” is by having what you plan on adding to the game by the end of the test release.
