Just downloaded and tried to launch and got the system error: “The program can’t start because BORLNDMM.DLL is missing from your computer.”

Tried reinstalling and got the same error.

I have exactly the same problem as Aaron. Impossible to lunch the game.

  3. Rophil September 26, 2015 at 2:16 pm #

    *load the game 😉

  4. Luki September 26, 2015 at 2:31 pm #

    Same problem here! 🙁

Thanks everyone for this. It seems there’s a problem with the Windows version. Until this is fixed, this update is for Macs only. The latest Windows version has been set back to 2.0.9, so you can download and install that version if you’d like in the meantime. My apologies for this.

  6. anthony_270admin September 26, 2015 at 3:22 pm #

I have updated the version, which should fix this problem. If it doesn’t, or there is another problem, please let me know. You will have to re-download and install the game.

  7. Rophil September 26, 2015 at 3:41 pm #

    It works now. Thanks!

Good to hear – please let me know if you have any other problems.

  9. anthony_270admin September 26, 2015 at 5:35 pm #

General note: I have been unable to replicate the wild swing in %s from last poll to election night bug that some people have reported. If anyone experiences it, please let me know.

That’s really odd, because I get it about every time. The map on election night, with 0 days remaining, generally looks very different from the result when I hit space bar. The oddest incident was in of the old elections. Millard Fillmore is running as a 3rd party. He’s projected to not pick up a single state with 0 days remaining. In the result, he pretty much takes the entire deep south + Kentucky and Tennessee.

  11. Aaron Booth September 26, 2015 at 10:04 pm #

It happens in the primaries but there is a reason for that: Candidates that have dropped out of the race are still getting polling numbers. For example: Rubio and Trump are the two last Republicans in the race. In the Wisconsin Primary, Trump was on top by about 10 points the day of the primary. The next day when the winner of Wisconsin was announced, Rubio had picked up 21.7%! So he ended up winning the state 55.1%-44.9%.

I also just got the error pop up saying:

TGameEngine::ProcessEndOfRoundServer () Code=11 Access violation at address 00465787 in module ‘pi.exe’ Read of address 0000004C

  13. Luki September 26, 2015 at 11:32 pm #

    It works now, thanks!

  14. Aaron Booth September 27, 2015 at 1:05 am #

I am also still getting states stop counting at 60%-70% and such.

  15. Aaron Booth September 27, 2015 at 1:09 am #

Also, as far as wild swings go, I was playing Clinton v Walker and Clinton was winning 50.1%-47% in the final polls. The election night results were Clinton wins 76.9%-23.1%. That is one heck of a jump.

  16. Longtime PF September 28, 2015 at 9:43 pm #

Same problems as the aforementioned. Kasich was leading (unrealistically by a large margin) and then lost by a huge margin. There seems to be a GE bug.

Can we just divorce the primaries from the General Election because the primaries have too much power in the GE? You’re appealing to the party base, not independent voters in the primaries. The game engine is interpreting primary activity as GE activity, I think?

They should be, generally, considered two separate races until favorables are worked out, maybe?

  17. anthony_270admin September 29, 2015 at 12:29 pm #

    @Longtime PF,

The game engine currently treats the two races as different. The chance of affecting someone who supports another party is fairly low. My guess is there is a bug, as you suggest.

  18. anthony_270admin September 29, 2015 at 12:30 pm #

@Aaron re Clinton vs. Walker %s jump, do you have a save game from before election night?

  19. anthony_270admin September 29, 2015 at 12:31 pm #

@Aaron re error in ProcessEndOfRoundServer, can you tell me at what point approximately in the game you got this error (were you in primaries, general, and so on)?

  20. anthony_270admin September 29, 2015 at 12:32 pm #

@Jonathan, when you space bar and get the lop-sided election night results, are you space barring as one of the two major candidates, or a third party? Also, are you space barring just from the start of the general election, or from the primaries?

  21. Aaron Booth September 29, 2015 at 1:01 pm #

I got the same result last night with Clinton v. Kasich. I am going to email that one to you. Kasich was ahead 49.3%-48.1% with the EV’s at Clinton 249 and Kasich at 247 and 42 that were too close. On election night, the result was Clinton winning 70.7% – 29.3% and winning the EV 473-65. Every state was less than 100% reported. even the early states stopped counting at around 60%-80%. I don’t know if even just that would cause the odd results. If that was the problem, I would think that it wouldn’t be so uniform not only within a single try but uniform over multiple runs of the same election from that save.

I just emailed the save file to you.

  22. Aaron Booth September 29, 2015 at 1:05 pm #

As far as the ProcessEndOfRoundServer goes, I was in the primaries. Around mid to late April.

  23. anthony_270admin September 29, 2015 at 1:06 pm #

@Aaron, thanks for this – got it.

  24. anthony_270admin September 29, 2015 at 1:17 pm #

Replicated lop-sided election results. This is probably a bug somewhere in the election night code.

  25. Douglas September 29, 2015 at 3:12 pm #

The way that Anthony worked with me to help resolve the “list index out of bounds” issue that I was having was top-notch. I’d recommend this game to anyone because of the awesome and realistic gameplay; now I can recommend it on the back of the helpful customer service. This update is the best!

  26. anthony_270admin September 29, 2015 at 3:30 pm #

    Thanks for this feedback!

  27. anthony_270admin September 29, 2015 at 3:30 pm #

Fixed the lop-sided election results bug (thanks to Aaron for the save game file I could use to replicate it).

It seems there are voters who get stuck in candidates who have dropped out, but those voters are added to that party’s leader %s in the game (before election night) while not being added on election night.

I’ll release a new version soon.

I’m still having the problem with wild last-minute swings. I can be way up in the primaries in a state and suddenly and inexplicably lose. It’s completely unplayable as a result. I thought it was something to do with fog of war, but I turned it off and still have the same problem. Really disappointed.

    Version Ericson 2.1.5.

For context, I turned on every available candidate and had several of them marked as “undecided” at the beginning of the campaign. I was playing as Biden and started undecided but declared one week in each time.

  29. mrliioadin October 17, 2015 at 11:39 pm #

Further clarification, I was winning in Louisiana by a few points. I was confident that I would pick up several seats in the primary. Somehow, I failed to pick up a single seat.

  30. anthony_270admin October 22, 2015 at 6:34 pm #

Ok, this sounds like a problem with turning on large numbers of candidates in the ‘undecided’ state. I’ve noted this – in the meantime, I recommend starting candidates as ‘official’.
