Roadmap for the next 3 months

Hi everyone,

With the surprise election call in the U.K. by Theresa May, the following is the plan for the next 3 months. Note that this can change at any time.

  1. (Late April, 2017) Complete the President Infinity update, adding direct popular vote and a two-round system, among other features, for the France 2017 presidential election on April 23rd and then (if there’s a run-off) May 7th.
  2. (Late May, 2017) Update Prime Minister Infinity – U.K. for the 2017 election. The plan is for existing customers to receive an update to the game engine. Whether an official 2017 campaign will be included, or whether it will be a separate add-on hasn’t been decided yet.
  3. (Late June, 2017) Update Congress Infinity, bringing it up to date with the latest Infinity game engine.

I emphasize that this is provisional. The dates in brackets above are best guesses.

Looks like a solid plan going forward for the near future

    Two things:

    1) I’m so excited for the addition of the French presidential election option

    2) Even if the predictions are wildly off (hopefully they are spot on), I deeply appreciate the thoughtfulness behind giving us this roadmap. It really shows a commitment to great customer service. Thanks again!

And after that you will add the PR?
Becouse Maine will add it for their elections.

And one thing more, if you ad PR, it will be D´hont method or it will be Saint Lague or hare?
Here is an example of why its important the type of PR you add: In the 2015 Spanish General Election, in the district of Ávila, that elects 3 MPs, the PP had the 46.58% and 2 seats, the PSOE had 19.96% and 1 MP, and C´s 15.76% and no seats, with the D´hont method. But if the MP are assigned by the Saint Lague or Hare, the PP would have 1 seat, PSOE 1 seat, and C´s 1 seat. I prefear the D´hont method, becouse gives a little majority to the winner in votes.

I’m confused, will the 2017 French election be added to the President Infinity game or will it be a separate game all together (ex. Canada’s Prime Minister Infinity or UK’s PM Infinity)?

    Thanks everyone for the feedback!

It will *not* be a separate game. It will be an official campaign available for owners of President Infinity.

PR might be added in a future release, but I don’t have a time estimate. I can’t say at this point which form(s) of PR will be added, if PR is added.

I can say we are closer to adding PR, now that direct pop. vote has been added.

I’m confused about the new turnout feature because I thought that the new favorability model would determine the turnout. In any event, I’m sure it’s not a bug but whenever I space for the next turn it skips the news page, which prevents me from spinning. Spacing is a lot less tedious than clicking the button every time.

I would also like to thank you for finally implementing the popular vote opinion, I’ve been hoping for it since 2010. It’s a great feature and will improve state level games tremendously.

    Will French Campaign be free?

Just an idea for the PMI update,

I don’t know how easy it would be to implement Multi-member FPTP for PMI as local councils in the UK use this.

3 Representatives in a District where each party can stand 3 candidates and the three candidates who get the most votes are elected.

    Labour 550 – Elected
    Conservative 440 – Elected
    Conservative 430 – Elected
    Lib Dem 320
    Conservative 310
    Labour 170
    Labour 168
    Lib Dem 155
    Lib Dem 149

It could make adding AV, STV easier for the UK regional parliaments/ assemblies as they use multi-member constituencies.

@Jesse Maine has Ranked-Choice-Voting, not proportional now. It’d be really cool to have that as a possibility once two-round is worked out too.

Been away for quite a while. Any update on favorability?

It would be cool to have a ranked choice option.
But, it would probably be a lot of work for @anthony_270admin
