President Forever 2012 Alpha v. 1.1.1 has been released.

It fixes two bugs, one when clicking on a region in general election mode, and one about how undecideds are modeled.

Note: computer player AI is not complete. This results in computer players not focusing on the optimal states, and so on.

President Forever 2012 Alpha v. 1.1.0 has been released.

It fixes the Republican Convention results, adds U.S. protectorates or territories involved in the primaries, makes some modifications to game play, fixes some bugs, changes how completed primary delegate counts are displayed, and more.

Completed primary delegate counts feature

In President Forever 2012, you can switch between viewing the estimated primary delegate counts, and the completed primary delegate counts.

In v. 1.1.0 (forthcoming), completed totals are displayed as bars on different levels (so, one level for each player):

Each bar represents how many delegates the leader has, and the line in the middle is the threshold line – once the leader’s delegate count crosses that line, they have a majority of delegates and so have the nomination.

First President Forever 2012 Primaries Screenshot

The next version of President Forever 2012 Alpha will be released soon, probably at the end of this week. The big new feature will be primaries.

Here is a screenshot of the 2012 primaries as it stands right now:

The primaries start on December 5th. The blue is Gingrich – who held a dominating lead across most of the country. It is easy to look back now and think Romney was ‘ordained’, but less than one month before the Iowa caucuses things did not look that way. Santorum, meanwhile, had virtually no traction – even in Iowa he was at just 7% or so.
