  1. Lookin’ good guys! What’s with the 12 step bar at the bottom? Is that some sort of tutorial?

  2. Thanks for the feedback guys!

The idea is that it’s a way to keep track of what you’ve done during a turn, and makes it more straightforward for new players.

  3. Would it be possible to integrate a function that allows players to create a central target list for running ads? It’s very time consuming to click each individual region in each ad.

  4. @andy

They did so when makin the ad run nationally (united states) when you click to run the ad a list comes up and you click each state you want to run the ad in. My suggestion for the game is for the primaries. The delegate math, and the way states allocate delegates should be more specific. Considering this race is all about the delegates it should be pretty precise.

  5. @Political Mastermind

I understand that you can select which states you want the ad to run in. What I’m saying and perhaps did not articulate very well is that I’d prefer for it to function more like it did in P4E08.

In that version there was a “Strategy” screen that allowed you to choose what states you wanted to target. Then for each individual ad there was a button you could press that would activate the ad in the states you’d selected on the Strategy screen.

And that brings me to another point. I don’t think it makes sense to charge CPs for targeting a state. The only limitations in terms of targeting states ought to be how much money you can afford to spend in them.

  6. I find it rather annoying to have to click each state I want to run an ad in, maybe an add all to ad button would be useful.

  7. I know this is off topic for this post but I just bought President Forever 2008 and I was trying to download scenarios but I couldn’t figure out how to make them work. Could you describe the process for me? Thanks

  8. @Dan,

Yes, there should be a button that allows you to ‘add all’, and probably an ‘add targeting’ button as well, in the next version.

  9. @Andy,

Targeting gives various advantages, so in terms of game play it makes sense to have it cost CPs to target. In real life, this would be similar to focusing resources on the state, doing research on it, and so on, so having a CP cost seems reasonable.

However, there could be another thing, ‘Electoral Strategy’, where you can just add a state to a list with no CP (or any other) costs. This might make sense, and could then be tied into ads (along with the ‘Add All’ and ‘Add Targeted’ buttons, an ‘Add Electoral Strategy’ button for where to run ads). We’ll see.

  10. Hey, I just wanted to say that I appreciate the work you do.
Again, my big selling point is customization. I loved being able to create my own scenario starting with a completely new map all the way through custom issues, to multiple parties, and on and on.

I just want to keep that wish visible as you’re working.

Thanks again! This game is awesome.

  11. I know that it would be crazy to try to get too detailed, but what are the thoughts concerning the brokered convention?

It would be cool to have some kind of mini-game within the game to contest a brokered convention – something that would involve the negotiations for VP, too.

Anyway, just throwing that out there.

  12. @matt

I think that idea would great. I have advocated for this before, and still think it should be done, also super delegates should be a factor considering it plays into the delegate race. Also, I think having another campaigns forever program is definitely needed, with the release of this game.

  13. Great! I guess we will learn about the new features (that weren’t in P4E2008) when the version including them come out?

  14. Yes, they’ll probably be announced when that version is released, in the version information part of the update info page.
