Upcoming President Infinity – Version 2.7.0

Hi everyone,

This post will keep track of changes to the upcoming version of President Infinity v. 2.7.0.

Changes so far since previous sneak-peek release (this list will be updated as changes are implemented on this side, these changes will not be available until the version is released):

  • fixed McMullin bug > try to start 2016 in primaries with Evan McMullin on > user in region that uses ‘,’s for decimal point > error about ‘0.01 is not a valid floating point value’
  • 2016 > Libertarians > on ballot in Oklahoma, Michigan
  • 2016 > Greens > on ballot in Connecticut, Montana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hamsphire, Wyoming, Kansas, Vermont
  • Research Screen > can select region by search
  • Strategy Screen > names of regions not on ballot are gray
  • save > fixed bug with save files that were too big
  • save > now only 1 save file associated with a save game, as opposed to 1 plus 1 for each candidate in the game
  • fixed bug > if canceled load game where program would freeze
  • fixed bug > if used too many CPs and playing 7 days per turn, would subtract from leader’s EPs each day instead of once per turn
  • Strategy Screen > fixed bug when ordering by Platform Distance where results not in order

  1. @Jonathan,

Looking at several bugs which have been reported, as well as grouping all of a save game’s files in one folder and allowing for exporting of it.

  2. 2016 > Libertarians > on ballot in Oklahoma, Michigan
2016 > Greens > on ballot in Connecticut, Montana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hamsphire, Wyoming, Kansas, Vermont

  3. This is an excellent game, as evidenced by the fact that I’ve been playing it since 2004. And I’m not harping, but just checking… the favorable/unfavorable ratings are still in the mix, right? And if so, any rough, rough, VERY rough idea as to when they make their debut?

  4. @Brandon,

    Thanks for the feedback!

I can’t give you a time estimate, but I can give you intended chronology. First, another President Infinity update. Then Congress Infinity game engine update. Then Congress Infinity 2018 campaigns update. Then back to President Infinity for work on Favorability.

This order can change at any time.

  5. Research Screen > can select region by search
Strategy Screen > names of regions not on ballot are gray

  6. @Anthony
Could you add three polls for the 2016 republican primaries?
I think to Idaho and Kentucky, where Jeb Bush is ahead when I start game on October 2015, and January 2016, despite his national poll numbers have collapsed:

    Idaho December 17-29: Trump 30%, Carson 19%, Cruz 16%, Rubio 10% (http://idahopoliticsweekly.com/politics/814-trump-has-big-lead-among-idaho-republicans-carson-and-cruz-trail)

    Idaho August 20-31: Trump 28%, Carson 15%, Bush 7%, Cruz 7%, Rubio 6%, Paul 5% (http://idahopoliticsweekly.com/politics/567-poll-trump-leads-republican-field-in-idaho-clinton-sanders-biden-tied/)

  7. I’ve got a pretty significant bug report. The strategy tab is pretty much entirely broken when it comes to sorting and how far ahead/behind you are, and I can’t seem to make any sense of it at all.

  8. save > fixed bug with save files that were too big
save > now only 1 save file associated with a save game, as opposed to 1 plus 1 for each candidate in the game

  9. @Caleb,

Trying to sort by %s in PI, it seems to work fine. Can you say more about the bug you getting on the Strategy Screen?

  10. fixed bug > if used too many CPs and playing 7 days per turn, would subtract from leader’s EPs each day instead of once per turn
