The official Canada 2019 campaign is coming along, with a probable election date of October 21st.
The parties that will officially be included are Liberal, Conservative, NDP, Bloc Quebecois, Green, and People’s Party. All these parties have at least 1 sitting MP.
The big story at this point from the last election is that the NDP have fallen, and the Greens have risen. Standard projections put the NDP at winning about 20 seats (from 44 last time) and the Greens at 6 (from 1 last time).
If this dynamic holds, it will be a horse-race between the Liberals and Conservatives. The Liberals were on an upward trend over the last month or so, almost catching up to the Conservatives as of now in polling. However, a few days ago the ethics commissioner found that Trudeau broke the Conflict of Interest Act, so we shall see if that trend continues.
